Game, Set, Style: Launching Clubhouse 1937 at The Courts

The Courts

When we set out to launch The Clubhouse 1937 Collection, we knew it needed a setting that could match the soul of the collection. Enter “The Courts,” located in the friendly town of Borrego Springs, California. It’s a retro tennis destination reimagined in the middle of the Anza-Borrego Desert known as ” four tennis courts, a clubhouse, and a pool in the middle of nowhere,” that sits on 5 acres of land with views of the San Ysidro Mountains, framed by desert skies, it felt like we’d stepped into a modern love letter to vintage sport.

Artists Adil Dara and Leah Goren transformed five acres of desert into something entirely new—a modern take on tennis that trades exclusivity for creativity. Their mission? Make the game more open, more playful, and a lot more fun.

At the heart of it all sits The Clubhouse, a sun-washed gathering spot where champions recharge, conversations flow, and style plays as loud as the stats. A fresh spin on tradition, The Courts reimagines what tennis culture can be and who it’s geared toward.

The Collection

Born from the golden age of retro tennis and grounded in Bob Cousy’s off-court style, The Clubhouse 1937 Collection reimagines a time when sport wasn’t just performance—it was poise, presence, and personality.

Picture sun-faded courts, courtside conversations, and sneakers that said as much about your spirit as your serve. The details tell the story: textured twill that nods to vintage varsity, contrast stitching that catches the light, and colorways that echo the era’s most iconic players.

Designed to move from match to hangout without skipping a beat, the lineup arrives in four easy-wearing colorways—Gray/Green and Sand/Sapphire, each in both Hi and Lo silhouettes.

With every step:

  • Twill uppers and embroidery carry the look of a well-worn letterman jacket
  • Glossy linings and our signature Posture Foundation wedge keep you grounded, even past match point
  • Gum rubber outsoles and double stitching ensure they hold up—on court, off court, and everywhere in between

This isn’t just tennis gear. It’s a reminder that the game doesn’t stop when the set ends. It just moves to the clubhouse.

The Inspiration

Just like The Courts push against traditional country club exclusivity, Clubhouse 1937 rebels in its own quiet way. It’s a collection made not just for playing the game, but for rewriting its dress code. Whether you’re chalking lines, climbing bleachers, or posted up poolside with a cold drink and a good story, these are sneakers built for everyday legends, from the desert to the driveway and from long rallies to late nights.
