Legends never die—and neither do their stories. The Vintage Soles Collection pays tribute to our legacy on the ballfields and blacktops of mid-century America. First introduced in 1944, The Center Hi was more than a sneaker—it was a revolution. Athletes who defined an era laced them up, making history with every step.

Reimagined for today, The Vintage Soles Collection stays true to its roots with timeless design elements that have stood the test of time, like the iconic gum sole, ribbed toe guard, and 10 oz. off-white canvas upper. This collection blends vintage charm with modern craftsmanship, delivering a sneaker that's both classic and contemporary. Inspired by the grit and determination of past generations, Vintage Soles isn't just a sneaker—it's a story that keeps moving forward.
To bring this collection to life, we turned to the timeless nostalgia of Ogden Car Wash in Wilmington, North Carolina. With its retro signage, chrome accents, and undeniable Americana vibe, the car wash wasn't just a backdrop—it was a symbolic stage where the past meets the present. Like our sneakers, it's a place where things of value are cared for, polished, and restored–much like how we, as a brand, have been crafting quality sneakers for generations.

We also invited the people behind the shoot—Micah Tomaselli (the owner of Ogden Car Wash), Majsan Bostrom (the truck owner), and the creative team at Camp Digital—to share their perspectives on history, inspiration, and what Vintage Soles represents to them. Here's a glimpse into their worlds.
Q: Our mantra is: "Run faster. Jump higher. Fly free." Which resonates with you most, and why?
A: [Micah, Ogden Car Wash Owner] "Fly free—I like to choose my own path and not be constrained by society's expectations."
Q: What do you hope customers take away when they visit Ogden’s?
A: [Micah] "A smile because their car looks so good."

Q: Tell us about your truck—its name, history, and personality.
A: [Majsan, Truck Owner] "This is ‘The Tempest,' a 1986 Dodge Ram with a long bed, 4WD, and a 360 V8 engine. He looks and sounds like a storm, but I call him ‘Joey' for short. The name's a nod to Joey Tempest, lead singer of Europe, whose hit song ‘The Final Countdown' came out in 1986—the same year as the truck. And yes, I'm Swedish."
Q: What does "vintage" mean to you?
A: [Majsan] "It's an act of sustainability—choosing to use and cherish what's already been made instead of discarding it. Vintage is about valuing the past and its craftsmanship."
Q: Has owning a vintage truck taught you anything about patience, craftsmanship, or appreciating the past? If so, how?
A: [Majsan] "Definitely. It's taught me to appreciate the past. Vintage vehicles have a way of bringing people together over shared stories and memories. That connection is priceless."
Q: Where can our Flyers follow along for future adventures with the truck?
A: [Majsan] "Follow me on Instagram: @majsan_bostrom for updates and photos of Joey."
Q: What role did the styling and props play in showcasing the shoes?
A: [Camp Digital Team] "Every detail mattered—from the socks and bandanas to the earthy tones and workwear. Each element was chosen to complement the sneakers without overshadowing them. The truck, buckets, and nostalgic props tied the whole vibe together and made the shoes shine."
Q: Was there a particular photo or moment from the shoot that stood out to you as incredibly successful or memorable?
A: [Camp Digital Team] "Watching the models light up with excitement—whether it was over the car, the outfits, or the location—was unforgettable. We also focused on capturing subtle details: close-ups of the shoes, textures, and moments that feel both understated and stunning."

From conceptualizing the collection to bringing it to life at Ogden Car Wash, and now sharing it with you, The Vintage Soles Collection is a labor of love. It's a celebration of history, craftsmanship, and the stories that shape us. We’re grateful to everyone who values the care and effort poured into these shoes—and we can’t wait to see how you make them your own.
