From getting together on Sundays in 2014 with a couple cases of beer and hitting baseballs at each other’s faces to our latest road trip to Durham, NC, the last 11+ seasons have been incredibly surprising and rewarding.
The Cap City Cobras were Austin’s third sandlot team (now there are more than 25) and, at the time, we were told that people did not like or want to play baseball anymore. However, being a bunch of misfits and societal skeptics, we decided that sentiment was not true and came to learn that people just did not want to play adult baseball in how it was being offered.

To that end we endeavored to create an inclusive baseball team that welcomed all ages, skill levels, genders, sexual orientations, etc. – basically any person that wanted to play baseball (and was not a dick). This guiding principle has served us well, and the Cobras have grown into a close-knit team that loves nothing more than to throw on the gloves and toss the ball around with our teammates.
The Cobras are by and large a practice team – meeting every Wednesday on our beloved practice field, Patterson Park (aka Patty!!!)! This is our temple – this is where we became the Cobras – the key to the Cobras’ culture, camaraderie, and connectedness is Wednesday at Patty! To a Cobra, we would all agree that if we never played another game, we would still meet for practice at Patty on Wednesday.

The Cobras encourage all who desire to get out there and play the beautiful game – to believe in the fun and support local baseball. Baseball is for all – have a catch, it could change your entire life.
FANGS FIRST!
