The PF Flyers brand catapulted to a household name in the 1950s and 60s, in large part because of our affiliation with NBA player Bob Cousy. An NBA Hall of Famer, Cousy played point guard for the Boston Celtics from 1950 to 1963. He was known for his impressive ball-handling skills and became the NBA’s first superstar. Respected by players and worshiped by fans as no other player had been before him, Cousy and the PF brand made history in 1958 when we created the first athletic endorsement. That early collaboration cemented our legacy in sneakers designed to be worn on and off the court.
Today we continue to evolve our sneakers through an ever-growing collection of iconic reissues from the last 85 years and evolved silhouettes that continue to redefine the classic sneaker for today’s modern consumer. PF. Flyers is much more than a quality, comfortable, and stylish line of footwear, it brings with it a lifestyle rooted in American style and optimism that is as relevant as it was when the brand was launched over 85 years ago.
Just like the heritage designs that inspired them, our high tops continue to be a hit among sneaker lovers. The All American Hi is the style Bob Cousy first laced up in the 1950s, and it’s just as wearable today with a streamlined and more modernized look. Vintage style details like our signature diamond logo patch meet a design rooted in comfort for all-day effortless wear.
Also rooted in our court heritage, the Center has been a PF Flyers icon and classic basketball silhouette for nearly a century. Since 1937 when we debuted the first insole designed specifically for sport shoes, our sneakers have found balance between form and function. This year we gave the Center Hi and Center Lo a design upgrade, merging our heritage design with modern day street style through elevated details like the diamond-shaped ankle patch, 100% cotton canvas upper, silver aluminum eyelets, and tonal stitching.
