Great fit, well built!
As a long-time P.F. Flyers customer and Legend Awards member, I appreciate the quality, craftsmanship, and design of the new Ground Up Beam. It’s an attractive shoe, and I respect the effort that went into creating a premium product. That said, in today’s economy, the 175 dollar price puts this shoe well outside what many loyal customers can reasonably justify, especially with higher everyday costs making discretionary purchases more difficult. My concern isn’t that P.F. Flyers has introduced a premium shoe. Premium collections have their place. My concern is that loyal customers, the people who have supported this brand for years, should have a realistic opportunity to own and enjoy these special releases. I’d love to be able to buy several pairs throughout the year and save up for an occasional premium model. But at this price, that’s simply beyond reach. I hope future releases find a better balance, one that allows loyal customers to participate, rather than sit on the sidelines. Respectfully, Richard Singletary, loyal P.F. Flyers customer. I admit I bought these for their looks. I didn't realize how rugged and comfortable they'd be. They are super solid and well made. They're more like a canvas combat boot than a Grounder or a Center. I'm extremely happy with them!
Welp, you do get a fabric bag sack, so there’s that.
Comfortable footbed, true to size, well made and heavy duty compared to normal grounders. They are a cross between a military tactical shoe and duck boots. Will be able to withstand the cold NYC streets this coming winter. Got navy and black. Very happy with my purchase. I noticed other reviewers mentioning price point. You can’t ignore the fact that tariffs are still being applied to imported goods made out of country. It’s part of the inflation problem that everyone is complaining about.
I encourage anyone who bought these to remove the insert and see what the midsole looks like. I've received two pairs now that both had this issue where the shoe itself is all lumpy as if there were bubbles in the mold. Now it seems the company is not replying to my messages to resolve this. I would very much like a good functioning product but this is all I've been getting. I'm very interested to know if others have found this issue with theirs
