Spot on my friend. I’m sure they’re quality and beyond but 175 for a single pair of PFs isn’t justified and prices out regular & devoted customers.
As a long-time P.F. Flyers customer and Legend Awards member, I appreciate the quality, craftsmanship, and design of the new Ground Up Beam. It’s an attractive shoe, and I respect the effort that went into creating a premium product. That said, in today’s economy, the 175 dollar price puts this shoe well outside what many loyal customers can reasonably justify, especially with higher everyday costs making discretionary purchases more difficult. My concern isn’t that P.F. Flyers has introduced a premium shoe. Premium collections have their place. My concern is that loyal customers, the people who have supported this brand for years, should have a realistic opportunity to own and enjoy these special releases. I’d love to be able to buy several pairs throughout the year and save up for an occasional premium model. But at this price, that’s simply beyond reach. I hope future releases find a better balance, one that allows loyal customers to participate, rather than sit on the sidelines. Respectfully, Richard Singletary, loyal P.F. Flyers customer.
